The event provided an excellent opportunity to deepen cooperation between audit institutions, hold bilateral meetings and discussions with delegations from other state audit institutions

On 5 December 2024, at the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption invitation, Auditor General Maksim Acevski participated in a formal event at the Assembly

The purpose of the visit was to discuss the current implementation of procurement, challenges, and solutions of projects financed by the World Bank

The event addressed key challenges and opportunities in audit practice. The first discussion focused on transparency and the importance of clear communication of audit findings to build trust and encourage timely reactions

Auditor General highlighted his satisfaction with the quality of the completed activities, noting that the upcoming period will involve activities related to the reporting phase and the preparation of draft/final audit reports

Both delegations expressed willingness to undertake additional activities in the upcoming period for deepening and intensifying the cooperation between SAO and ECA

The discussion focused on key findings from final audit reports on brain drain of highly educated and skilled people from the country, conditions of student dormitories, as well as development of student standard

The Annual Report on performed audits and operation of the State Audit Office for 2023 was reviewed and adopted at the Fourteenth Session of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia on 12 September 2024
