On 25 September 2024, delegation of the European Court of Auditors (ECA) led by Ms. Laima Liucija Andrikienė, Member of ECA, paid a visit to the State Audit Office, where they held a meeting with Auditor General Maksim Acevski and Deputy Auditor General Orhan Ademi.
During the meeting, which focused on the Western Balkans Growth Plan and the expected benefits of its implementation in the process of the region's EU integration, and specifically for our country, Mr. Tomas Mackevicius and Mr. Pietro Puricella from the European Court of Auditors, as well as the Deputy Ambassador of the EU delegation in the country, Mr. Ben Nupnau, were also present.
Auditor General expressed gratitude for the visit and the interest of ECA delegation in the State Audit Office, and presented SAO results and activities, as well as key findings from audits conducted on the use of EU funds and the degree of utilization of these funds in the country.
Both delegations expressed willingness to undertake additional activities in the upcoming period for deepening and intensifying the cooperation between SAO and ECA concerning professional development of employees and increasing skills and knowledge in several areas.
