On 17 July 2023, the State Audit Office hosted a delegation from the National Audit Office of Kosovo headed by Auditor General Ms. Vlora Spanca. Ms. Spanca was welcomed by Auditor General Maksim Acevski and Deputy Auditor General Orhan Ademi.
The bilateral visit presented an excellent opportunity for representatives of both institutions to exchange and share positive practice in performing state audit as well as to present achieved results and successfully implemented activities.
Auditor General Acevski expressed satisfaction with the successful cooperation between the State Audit Office and the National Audit Office of Kosovo as well as assurance that further strengthening of cooperation between the SAIs and sharing good state audit practices would increase the contribution to the efficiency, economy and effectiveness in the use of public funds and creation of effective control environment.
Auditor General Spanca expressed gratitude for the hospitality and congratulated SAO on the results achieved, particularly in relation to the communication process with stakeholders and the high degree of transparency, accountability and visibility of SAO operations, as a successful example to be followed by NAO in the future.
High-level delegations from both SAIs held a meeting with the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi and discussed the successful cooperation between SAO and NAO, as well as the strengthened cooperation between SAO and the Assembly. The Memorandum of Cooperation between SAO and the Assembly demonstrates preparedness for deepening the cooperation in addition to the previous practice of reviewing SAO Annual Report, adoption of Conclusions by the Assembly and Report from the Finance and Budget Committee.
