Today, Auditor General Maksim Acevski and his colleagues welcomed delegation from the State Audit Institution of the Republic of Serbia, headed by SAI President Dr. Dusko Pejović.
Mr. Acevski expressed satisfaction with the bilateral cooperation and the results achieved, particularly with the parallel audit "Balanced regional development with special emphasis on demography" and assured that this cooperation will continue with new joint audits.
The focus of today's meeting was UN 2030 Agenda, which represents a universal framework for strengthening collective action towards implementation of the sustainable development goals such as eliminating poverty, environment protection and climate action and ensuring peace and prosperity for all people.
In this context, representatives of both SAIs agreed on implementation of a parallel performance audit on a topic related to the preparedness of both countries for implementation of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in line with Agenda 2030.
Mr. Pejović emphasized that joint parallel audit activities would contribute to all three pillars - economic, social and environmental - for a sustainable development of the society.
The bilateral visit was also used for exchange of information and experiences in the interest of further improvement of external audit and public funds management.
