Auditor General Maksim Acevski and the Director of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) in our country Ms. Joana Kozma signed Memorandum of Cooperation with the aim of increasing effectiveness in the performance of audit functions, managing corruption risks, as well as improving communication with the public.
At the meeting, Mr. Acevski expressed gratitude for IFES support to SAO and pointed out that SAO, as a serious, independent and credible institution is open and prepared for the implementation of joint activities formalized in the Memorandum.
The focus of the Memorandum are the benefits in relation to increasing expertise and professional development of SAO employees, advancing digitalization through innovative tools and software solutions, innovative tools and approaches for prevention or repression of corruption and improved transparency and accountability aimed at increasing public awareness of corruption areas, ascertained shortcomings and Sao operation.
