Auditor General Maksim Acevski signed Memorandum of Understanding with the President of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) Mr. Mike Driver and the Director of the Center of Excellence in Finance (CEF) Ms. Jana Repanšek.
These MoUs create formal basis for establishing continuous cooperation on joint activities aimed at promoting joint commitment to sound public finance management and good governance, as well as sharing best practice for improving skills and capacities of public institutions and officials.
During the two-day visit, SAO delegation participated in the international public finance conference on "Making Government Services Work Better for Citizens" organized by CEF and CIPFA from 27-30 June 2022.
The conference covered several topics related to institutional and accounting / financial aspects of reporting on public funds management, use of public funds information in decision-making and responsibilities, as well as topics related to prevention of corruption in the public sector.
Other SAO employees followed the international conference online through Zoom platform.
