Within the activities of Component 2 of the twinning project "Improvement of external audit and parliamentary oversight", SAO representatives paid a visit to the State Audit Office of Croatia (11 – 15 October 2021).
The study visit was designed for exchange of experience and knowledge related to the methodology aspects of audit. Croatian colleagues presented the process of conducting audit on the Annual Report on the execution of the Budget of the Republic of Croatia, audit on the local self-government units and public enterprises, as well as the methodology for conducting and reporting on audit of political parties.
Through a discussion on the differences and similarities of audit activities, auditors identified areas for possible improvements aimed at overall improvement of the audit process for the state budget, performing and reporting on audits of local self-government, public enterprises and EU Projects, as well as identifying possible improvements in the audit process on political parties.
