On 05 October 2021 Auditor General Maksim Acevski and Deputy Auditor General Orhan Ademi met with representatives of OSCE ODIHR monitoring mission assigned for the local elections in the Republic of North Macedonia scheduled on 17 October 2021.

The meeting was held at the request of OSCE ODIHR representatives to get acquainted with SAO activities regarding implementation of the legal competencies for prevention of corruption, i.e. monitoring the legality of political party and election campaign financing.

Auditor General emphasized that the State Audit Office continuously points to and ascertains certain systemic weaknesses in the financing of political parties during election campaigns.
