In 2020, SAO carried out 58 audits, which covered 481 entities and issued 82 final audit reports, of which 65 regularity audit reports, 7 compliance audit reports, 7 performance audit reports, 1 IT audit report and 2 follow-up audit reports.
The Annual Report for 2020 contains 1014 findings and 604 recommendations concerning identified shortcomings in the operation of the auditees and the legislation governing auditees’ operation.
The scope of audits carried out in 2020 amounts to 347.295 million denars of public revenue and 184.432 million denars of public expenditure. The indicators on the implementation of audit recommendations are significantly improved, which implies that SAO contribution towards strengthening transparency, accountability and responsibility in spending public funds is becoming more significant.
