Bilateral Meeting in Sarajevo on Topics Related to State Audit

The Auditor General, Mr. Maksim Acevski, and the Auditor General of the Supreme Audit Institution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Hrvoje Tvrtković, held a bilateral meeting in Sarajevo focused on strengthening institutional cooperation and exchange of experiences in state auditing.

In line with the signed Memorandum of Cooperation, the meeting served as an opportunity to deepen collaboration by exploring the implementation of parallel audits on topics of mutual interest. This approach will contribute to improving audit methodology and enhancing accountability and transparency in public funds management.

Additionally, the discussions covered key aspects of audit practice, including the importance of developing a clear competency framework and continuous professional development of staff, strengthening cooperation with international organizations, as well as the exchange of knowledge and best practices for more efficient implementation of audit activities.

Special emphasis was put on auditing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and effectively presenting audit findings to increase their impact and added value in the public sector.

The meeting confirmed the commitment of both institutions to the continuous exchange of knowledge and experiences, opening new opportunities for cooperation and joint initiatives that will contribute to improving the efficiency and accessibility of state auditing, to ensure greater accountability and responsibility in the interest of the citizens.
