Today's training session for state auditors focused on the regularity audit planning phase, execution phase using sampling and direct testing, assessment of audit activity results, and reporting on audit findings. Special emphasis was put on audits of political parties and election campaigns, highlighting the most common findings identified in these audits.
Today's lecturers were Ms. Liljana Stojanova, Advisor to the Auditor General, and Ms. Katerina Čalovska Aleksovska, Assistant to the Auditor General. Through practical examples, they shared their audit knowledge and experience with their fellow state auditors, fostering discussions and exchange of perspectives.
SAO, as the supreme audit institution in the country, is conducting financial audits of political parties and audits of political entities participating in election campaigns.
The event was organized with the support of the Swiss Election Support Program and implemented by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) in our country. Since 2016, IFES through its office in Skopje has been providing technical and logistical support for capacity building of organizations and institutions.
