Today, Auditor General Maksim Acevski held a meeting with Ms. Mare Bogeva-Micovska, Acting Director of the Public Procurement Bureau.
At the meeting, they discussed several topics and areas of mutual interest and cooperation, including:
- Actions taken within the coordination body for monitoring public procurements in North Macedonia for the period 2022–2026, where SAO has representatives,
- Monitoring impact and results of the strategic and operational objectives for implementation of the Strategy for Improving the Public Procurement System,
- Activities taken by the working group formed by the Auditor General for preparing a brochure based on the Handbook for Common Mistakes in Public Procurement Procedures.
As part of its 2023 Annual Work Program, SAO conducted compliance audit on the topic "Process of awarding public procurement contracts," where the "red flags" identified in the Red Flag Report published by the Public Procurement Bureau were used as risk assessment criteria as well as for selecting auditees.
