At the meeting, Mr. Acevski and Mr. Deguara expressed willingness and confidence that strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanging good audit practices will contribute to greater economy, efficiency and effectiveness in the use of public funds as well as in creation of effective control environment.
The commitment to continuous professional and technical cooperation for strengthening professional capacities and promoting accountable and effective external audit has been translated into the contents of the signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the supreme audit institutions.
The focus of the bilateral visit was exchange of experience on key areas of interest to both institutions, with special emphasis on strategic objectives for the coming years, cooperation with stakeholders, audit of local self-government, audit of sustainable development goals and planning audit methodologies.
By signing the Memorandum, the representatives of both institutions agree to make all necessary preparations for successful implementation of activities defined and to maintain open and effective communication on all issues related to the activities of common interest.
