Auditor General Maksim Acevski and his colleagues together with the Public Revenue Office Director Sanja Lukarevska paid a working visit to the Republic of Armenia and held meetings with high representatives of UNDP in Armenia, the Audit Chamber, as well as with representatives of the National Assembly and the State Revenue Committee.
At the meeting with UNDP representative in Armenia, Mr. Natia Natsvlishvili, delegations exchanged opinions and experiences on the institutional setting, state audit and public revenues, digitalization and the different approaches of international cooperation that can contribute to strengthening responsibility, transparency and accountability of public institutions.
The team from Armenia National SDG Innovation Lab introduced delegations to the various innovative solutions they are implementing in cooperation with the institutions in Armenia, particularly in the area of taxation.
Auditor General also held a bilateral meeting with the Chairman of the Audit Chamber of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Atom Janjughazyan. At the meeting, representatives of both SAIs presented their institutional development and placement, results and progress over the years, development perspectives and challenges they are facing, and expressed readiness and desire to establish and intensify the future cooperation of mutual interest aimed at professional development of capacities of both SAIs.
During the visit, representatives of SAO and PRO had the opportunity to become acquainted in more detail with the work of the National Assembly of Armenia and the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, and also met with representatives of the State Revenue Committee to exchange experience and best practice implemented by the two tax administrations.
This working visit was organized and supported by UNDP in line with the signed Memorandum of Understanding and the successful long-term cooperation.
