At the invitation of UN Women, Auditor General Maksim Acevski participated in the regional conference titled "Transformative financing as accelerator for gender equality: Drawing from gender responsive budgeting experiences and lessons learned", from23-24 November in Istanbul, Türkiye.
Auditor General emphasized that the recommendations from the country's first gender performance audit prompted important changes in the key policies related to gender equality. In addition, he expressed gratitude to UN Women-Skopje for the support in strengthening capacities and knowledge of state auditors on gender responsive budgeting.
During the conference, participants were introduced to the new initiatives rolled out by UN Women to monitor progress on the implementation of SDG 5.c.1 indicator and the development of a GRB index, which will enable Governments to identify progress and entry points for future interventions on GRB.
