The State Audit Office held a working meeting with representatives of competent institutions, the media and civil society organizations. At the event SAO presented its activities and results in relation to increasing transparency, accountability and visibility.
In his introductory address, Auditor General Maksim Acevski pointed out that cooperation with institutions, journalists and civil society organizations is one of the most important links in SAO work, which is particularly highlighted in its Communication Strategy. SAO presented its activities and results, which are incentive to continue with the hard work.
Sonja Kambovska, Assistant to the Auditor General, presented the identified shortcomings with the compliance audit on "Exploitation of water resources in electricity production" for the period 2012 - 2020. In addition, a video produced for the audit report was promoted as a novelty in SAO communication with the stakeholders.
The working meeting was implemented within the project "Support for implementation of SAO Communication Strategy" implemented by the State Audit Office together with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) in cooperation with RESIS Institute for Social Development Research, funded by UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
