On 13 July 2021, the National Office of the International Chamber of Commerce in Skopje in cooperation with the State Audit Office, held one-hour online training on "Implementation of international best practice in dealing with corruption".
The training objective is strengthening capacity of competent institutions in setting up transparent, efficient and sustainable anti-corruption system. It is supported by the Embassy of the Netherlands.
The Vice President of the Association of Chambers of Commerce and representative of the International Chamber of Commerce, Gabriela Kulebanova, and Deputy Auditor General Orhan Ademi addressed the training participants.
Deputy Auditor General emphasized SAO commitment as a supreme audit institution to safeguarding and protection of public funds and property from unauthorized and illegal activities, as well as the important role of SAO in the fight against corruption.
An overview of possible risks of corruption in auditing financial statements was presented, as well as best practice from the Netherlands with focus on International Auditing Standard 240. Risk management policies and procedures, understanding effectiveness of institution's internal control and obtaining audit evidence based on substantive audit procedures were also discussed.
