From 4 to 8 May 2026, Ms. Maja Stavreska, Senior Auditor at the State Audit Office, participated in the prestigious international training programme entitled “Transcending Gender Norms in Leadership,” held in Singapore as part of the bilateral technical cooperation between the Government of Singapore and the Republic of North Macedonia.
This advanced training programme was organized by the Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP) and the Civil Service College Singapore. Our colleague's participation was fully supported by the Auditor General, reaffirming the SAO’s strategic commitment to continuous professional development and alignment with global standards.
The knowledge acquired is directly relevant to the institution’s ongoing activities, particularly as Ms. Stavreska is part of the audit team conducting the performance audit on the topic “Women Leaders in the Republic of North Macedonia.”
The experiences and best practices from Singapore, particularly in using data to monitor progress and address systemic barriers, will significantly contribute to the finalization of the audit. In this way, the SAO continues to strengthen its capacity for independent, high-quality oversight of gender equality policies and support for women’s leadership in the country.
