From September 9 to September 11, the State Audit Office hosted an international event for a parallel performance audit on the topic” Aging of the Population” as part of the activities of the European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI).
In addition to the State Audit Office, the parallel audit included the participation of nine other Supreme Audit Institutions from 🇦🇱 Albania, 🇦🇹 Austria, 🇱🇹 Lithuania, 🇲🇹 Malta, 🇵🇾 Paraguay, 🇵🇱 Poland, 🇵🇹 Portugal, 🇸🇰 Slovakia, and 🇨🇿 Czech Republic, as well as the Supreme Audit Institution of 🇮🇱 Israel, which served as the coordinator of this audit.
The event was officially opened with a welcome by the Auditor General, Mr. Maksim Acevski, who warmly welcomed the participants to our country. He expressed his expectation that the event would foster meaningful discussions and an exchange of experiences among all countries participating in the event through the presentation of key findings in the audits conducted by each participating state.
The participants were also greeted via video address by Mr. Matanjahu Englman, President of the SAI of Israel and current President of EUROSAI. He expressed his satisfaction with the excellent organization of the event by the State Audit Office and highlighted the successful international cooperation in the implementation of the parallel audit.
At the event, Mr. Vladimir Gjorchev, National Coordinator for Demography, Youth and Human Resources, delivered a presentation on the demographic aspect and trends. Through comprehensive statistical data, he provided an excellent introduction to the subsequent working sessions and presentations.
This event represents an excellent opportunity for the exchange of knowledge, best practices and cooperation among Supreme Audit Institutions members of EUROSAI, aimed at supporting policymakers in addressing the challenges of population aging.
