At the invitation of SAI of Montenegro, SAO representatives Tatjana Dimitrovska and Blerta Ganiu, Assistants to the Auditor General, attended the regional conference on Follow-up of audit recommendations organized by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy in Montenegro (WFD).
The event was attended by more than 30 representatives from several SAIs - Albania, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Slovenia, United Kingdom, and from the Parliament of Montenegro.
The conference was organized with the objective of improving systematic and quality monitoring of implementation of audit recommendations, which play key role in measuring audit impact. The participants exchanged experience and SAI best practice on application of procedures for monitoring implementation of audit recommendations in regularity, compliance and performance audit.
One of the conference conclusions was that the event will contribute to more regular consultations between regional SAIs, bilaterally or multilaterally, as well as exchange of information, advice and creating models that can inspire and promote new approaches and initiatives in the follow up of audit recommendations.
